The Aquachrom LLC Scientific Research Center provides services for solving a wide range of analytical tasks for the biopharmaceutical and food industry.
The main activity of the laboratory is the study of the structure of therapeutic proteins (for example, monoclonal antibodies and peptides), primarily by high-resolution mass spectrometry methods.
In particular, the following tasks can be solved on the basis of the Center:
- confirmation of the amino acid sequence of the protein (including the N- and C-terminal sections);
- peptide mapping;
- analysis of amino acid substitutions;
- analysis of posttranslational modifications (oxidation, deamidation, and many others);
- analysis of disulfide bonds (position of disulfide bridges, state of cysteine residues, recombination);
- analysis of glycosylated proteins – determination of the state of glycosylation sites, structure of glycans, construction of a glycosylation profile (“glycan profile”), analysis of glycopeptides, analysis of released glycans;
- biosimilarity research;
- assessment of protein stress stability, including identification of products formed under conditions of accelerated degradation;
- studies of the secondary and tertiary structure of the protein by auxiliary methods: analysis of circular dichroism and fluorescence spectra;
- development and validation of methodologies
The laboratory center is equipped with modern laboratory equipment: Waters SYNAPT XS HDMS (QTof-IMS) high-resolution mass spectrometer with the Waters ACQUITY Premier chromatograph (HPLC).
For the food and perfumery and cosmetics industries, the center can determine the fatty acid composition of products, the chromatographic profile of essential oils by gas chromatography with mass detection and other studies.
